SOLD! – 1940s Clear Rearing Horse bookends pair – Fostoria Glass – USA (OH)

Price includes shipping and insurance within the US.

This is a Rearing Horse bookend set by Fostoria (OH) in crystal (referring to the color.)  The two horses vary slightly in form, the angle of the head and weight so I think they may be from two different molds but the base shape defines them as Fostoria.  Fostoria Glass was in business from 1887 – 1986 and these date from the 1940s.  They have an Art Deco vibe to them I think.

These are heavy bookends, each weighs almost 3 lbs and can easily hold a number of books.  I found them on a working horse farm, a dramatic addition to your office and a great gift for the horse lover in your life.

Size: 7.5″h, base – 5.5″l x 3.25″w

Condition*: Excellent condition, no chips that I can see.  There is a line in the corner of one of them that appears to be a crack but the surface is completely smooth so it may be an inclusion from it’s making.  I have included a picture of it.
