1940s Pair of Sanssouci shape China Teacups -“Pompadour” by Rosenthal & Schumann (US Zone) rose iris tulip – Germany

Pair of fine quality German floral tea cups & saucers in the Sanssouci shape, saucers with fluted edges. Both are very delicate, thin porcelain typical of fine German porcelain of the time. These would be considered small for tea cups today but perfect for cappuccino, espresso or chocolate. The Pompadour cup sells for $50 – $75, I want to keep the pair together so I am selling them at a discount.
– Rosenthal “Pompadour” pattern – rose, iris & other flowers with heavy gold trim on an ivory background. The mark dates from 1939 – 1956.
– Schumann Bavaria – roses & other flowers on a white background with heavy gold trim. Marked US Zone which dates it 1945 – 49.
These would make lovely display pieces in any decor.
Size: Pompadour saucer – 4.5″ w, cup is 2.75″w (cup only) x 1.5″h.
Condition: Excellent condition for age. No wear on the gold trim. The Pompadour saucer has a .5″ long line which appears to be under the glaze and is only visible on the under side of the saucer.
