This is a striking hand painted porcelain lunch or tea set in Japanese lustre ware, peach/salmon and periwinkle blue with white cherry blossom design and LOTS of gold moriage trim. Made in Japan by an unidentified company, the lotus mark is unknown but dates to the late 1930s – early 1940s. The pattern strongly resembles Takito manufacture.

Condition: Excellent condition. This appears to be a gently used set, probably on display most of the time. There are a few superficial scratches on the plates and tiny flea bites here and there on a few pieces. These are occasional burst air bubbles, tiny inclusions etc. in the glaze & which are not defects but part of its creation. All handles are intact, no chips, cracks or other defects.
This would make a lovely display piece or can be used functionally as well. The entire set weighs approx. 9 lbs.
