10 pc. Early Noritake Roses Tea Set – Demitasse Cappuccino Espresso set + Nippon Syrup – Japan
Price includes USPS Priority shipping and insurance within the US.
Delicately hand painted set of early Noritake ware, the mark dates it to the 1940s. This set features roses in pink and burgundy with an attractive green border overpainted with generous amounts of gold. There is also raised moriage beading used on all the pieces. These cups are too small for tea but seem large for chocolate. It would be perfect for espresso, cappuccino or as a demitasse set. I am also including a closely matching earlier Nippon syrup container in a very similar pattern.
(4) demitasse/espresso cups and saucers. Cups are a unique shape, 2″w x 2″h and hold 2+ oz. The saucers are 4.5″w. Extensive hand painting, gold trim and moriage decoration overall. There is some light wear to the gold paint on the handle but the remainder of the gold trim is intact and in excellent condition. Light and delicate pieces.
(1) open sugar which matches the cups & saucers. It is 3.25″w x 2″h, with a blue Noritake mark from the same period as the cups. Very little wear.
(1) matching creamer. 3.25″h x 1.5″w, not including handle, with very little wear and no chips, cracks or staining.
(1) syrup container with lid. 5.25″h x 4″w, not including handle. This is marked Nippon and the mark was used 1891 – 1911. It is very similar in color and style to the rest of the set but the painting is not as fine. Next to no wear on this piece.
